Two men beaten with bats, one stabbed at Tweed Heads South

TWEED POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help identify three men who broke into a Tweed Heads South home on Thursday, April 20 and violently assaulted two men.

One of the men, aged 52 remains in hospital in a serious condition after he was beaten with bats. The other man, aged 51 was beaten and stabbed multiple times.

Police are appealing for any members of the public who may have dash cam footage in the Banora Point or Tweed Heads South area on Thursday, April 20, between 9pm and 10pm.

The home invasion occurred at a Russell Way address around 9.30pm, with the three offenders fleeing the scene before police arrived.

TWEED POLICE are investigating after two men were seriously assaulted during an aggravated break and enter at Tweed Heads South on Thursday, April 20.

A 52-year-old man and a 51-year-old man at a Russell Way home were assaulted after three men forced entry armed with bats and cutting implements around 9.30pm.

Tweed Police said, “both men were beaten with the bats and the 51-year-old man was stabbed multiple times.”

“Both injured men were taken to hospital. They are both currently in a stable condition.”

Police officers were unable to locate the three men who left the location in an unknown direction.

Police said they are following a number of lines of inquiry, including whether the incorrect premises was targeted.
