MEMBERS OF the Tweed District Rescue Squad have teamed up with fellow rescue services, including NSW Ambulance Paramedics, to walk down an injured bushwalker from Wollumbin Mt Warning this afternoon (Saturday, February 3).

Tweed District Rescue Squad posted the following at around 1.50pm this afternoon:

“Tweed District Rescue Squad is attending Mt Wollumbin assisting NSW Ambulance carry off an injured bush walker,” the social media post reads.

“Also in attendance NSW SES Murwillumbah Unit Tweed Byron LAC – NSW Police Force and help from our neighbors Brunswick VRA. (View from heli point 2).”

The rescue follows the Monday, January 22, extraction of a stricken hiker by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, who transferred a woman off the mountain with an injured ankle.

The latest hiker was believed to be in a stable condition, however no more details were available at this time.
