THERE ARE only a few sleeps to go before the iconic Santaland opens in Murwillumbah at the Salvo’s Store on Main Street with the first day on Monday, December 9.

The Salvo’s Store will come alive with a beautiful Christmas display for the Santaland event.

The Murwillumbah and District Business Chamber (MDBC) is proud to again organise this popular event where children and adults alike can visit the store to have a great photo with Santa in a beautiful Christmas setting.

MDBC Vice President Helen Stubbin said the idea behind Santaland was to offer the local community good quality photos with Santa at a very reasonable price.

“It’s also designed to encourage people to do their Christmas shopping in the local area and support our businesses that have had a particularly difficult time this year,” she said.

“We guarantee to have the happiest Santa in the Tweed Shire.

“This year we are encouraging business owners to get into the Christmas spirit and bring along their staff for a photo with Santa.”

Photo prices start at only $8 for a 6” x 4” photo. All sessions this year are from 10am to 12.30pm.

Santaland will operate on the following dates: Friday, December 8, Saturday, December 9, Friday, December 15, Saturday December 16 and each day of the first week of the school holidays from Monday December 18 to Saturday December 23.

“Santaland had great support last year from the community,” Ms Stubbin said.

“MDBC wishes to thank Steve and his staff at the Salvo’s for welcoming us again into their store to hold Santaland and acknowledge the huge effort they make to create our Santaland display.”
