2058

TUMBULGUM RESIDENTS and visitors are advised that road closures will be in place for Saturday’s (November 12) 150 year celebration and Tweed River Festival.

A day of entertainment, music, displays and food will culminate in the traditional giant lantern parade and a laser light show, as this year’s River Festival incorporates Tumbulgum’s 150 Year celebrations.

From 11am on Saturday, all traffic flow across the village will be via Gray St, Bawden St and Government Rd.

Riverside Drive between Fawcett Street and the Tumbulgum Tavern will be closed to all traffic between 11am and 10pm.

Riverside Drive between Gray Street and Government Road will be restricted to local traffic only.

There will be a partial closure of Fawcett Street at the river end to the House of Gabriel boundary from 11am, then a full closure during the lantern parade until 9.30pm.

Tumbulgum Boat Ramp will be closed all day.  Boaters are encouraged to use Condong Boat ramp as an alternative.

Parking is available on Council-owned land at the end of Government Road. There will be six designated disability parking spaces next to the community hall for the event. Visitors are being asked not to park across driveways.
