Police seize large amount of drugs from Tweed Heads West home

A 21-YEAR-OLD man will appear in Byron Bay Local Court today after police seized 1.1kg of cannabis and almost 500 tablets and capsules of MDMA from a Tweed Heads West home yesterday, Thursday, June 15.

“About 12.15pm yesterday (Thursday 15 June 2017), police from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home in Tweed Heads West,” Police said in a media statement.

“Police located 1.1kg of Cannabis leaf and 244 grams of MDMA, consisting of powder, 487 tablets and capsules.

“Police also seized an amount of methyl amphetamine, as well as mobile phones, drug paraphernalia and $3,400 in Australian currency.”

The 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station.

He was charged with numerous drug related offences. Police said their investigation is ongoing.
