Police investigate woman’s head injury at Tweed Heads

TWEED POLICE said they’re investigating the circumstances surrounding a woman who sustained serious head injuries in Tweed Heads on Sunday, February 5.

Police said it was around 9pm when the woman, whose identity has been concealed, was walking home from a licensed premises on Wharf Street.

She was approached by a man in the street and she quickly walked to a home on Enid Street, before she was found injured, according to police.

“At this stage, it is not known how the woman sustained serious head injuries,” the police statement reads and officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

The woman was taken to The Tweed Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
