Police appeal to identify Tweed City shoplifters

TWEED POLICE are appealing for public assistance to identify a pair they dubbed “Bonnie and Clyde” who stole almost $1000 worth of clothing from a Tweed City store on Tuesday, May 30.

Police said the pair entered a surf clothing store and caused a distraction whilst the male stole several items of clothing to a value of $979.85.

“The unknown male and female appeared to be working together and caused a scene within the store in an attempt to distract staff before the male was seen to stuff a significant number of items into a duffel bag before running from the store,” Police said in a media statement.

“Police believe the male shown below may be able to assist police with our inquiries.”
