HI ALL, welcome to this week’s local sounds, We had such a wonderful time at the Foodie Fest last month, with performances by Lyrica Blue, Casey Chambers, Grizzly Train and 7 Deadly Swings.

The streets came alive with festive activity and the support by the local people was amazing. This weekend Tweed Foodie Fest brings you Taste the Tweed being held at Hastings Point from 4pm–11pm Saturday, October 22 at the Hastings Point Headland.

A selection of the Tweed’s best cafes and restaurants will offer $6 and $12 tasting plates showcasing the fresh produce and the fantastic diversity of the Tweed.

This is the First Taste the Tweed on the Tweed Coast which fuses food, art, music and culture. Bring a blanket, or book a table. Bus transfers are available to and from the following locations: Kingscliff, Salt, Casuarina, Pottsville and Murwillumbah.

Tweed Foodie Fest is a celebration of our local rural and hospitality industries and is very much a paddock to plate experience where people can visit the farms, pick their produce and enjoy the tastes of the Tweed created by the hands of our local chefs.

It is about meeting the farmers, the chefs and the locals in a real village atmosphere. It is also about our local community getting together and celebrating who we are as a food producing region.

The picturesque Tweed Region in Northern NSW is fast becoming a destination for those who adore the finer things in life like great food, art and culture. The rich volcanic soil of ‘Australia’s Green Cauldron’ produces an abundance of locally grown produce.

This weekend’s Taste the Tweed in collaboration with Tweed Creative Studios is showcasing local musicians including, The Meerdogs, Kazah, the Davis Holl Project, Robert Van Coeverden and Kieran W Bailey. This will be a great evening for the family fine food, culture and music.
