TWEED HOSPITAL Auxiliary will host its Annual Fete at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre on Friday October 14 and Saturday October 15.

There will be lots of stalls including books, cakes, Christmas decorations and gifts, crafts, jewellery, kids’ soft toys, knitted baby wear, plants, pre-loved clothing, remnants and trash and treasure.

Fete organiser Merle Graham said there will also be the ever popular chocolate wheel with lots of prizes and aussie walking pet balloons on Saturday.

“Light refreshments will be served on both days.  The major raffle will be drawn on Saturday,” she said.

“Tickets for the raffle are currently on sale at various venues around the Tweed.

“The first prize in the raffle is a night for two at the Mantra Twin Towns, plus a $50 voucher to a show and a $50 voucher for dinner.

“There are also two other great prizes. All proceeds from the Fete go towards purchasing much needed equipment for the Tweed Hospital.

“So why not come along and support our Fete – you never know, the equipment you help to fund could one day safe your life.”

Mrs Graham said the Auxiliary has several fundraising activities during the year including a Mini Fete in June/July, Trivia Night, Fashion Parade and three major raffles.

“We also run the Auxiliary Gift Shop in the Tweed Hospital which is manned by volunteers. This is a great place to purchase nibbles, drinks, baby wear flowers and gifts.  Again all funds raised go to purchase equipment for the hospital.”

Doors open on Friday from 10am to 2pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.

The Tweed Hospital Auxiliary is always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in joining ring Merle Graham on (07) 5536 1441 for more information.
