A FREE Murwillumbah and Community Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 15, at the Murwillumbah Hockey Grounds.

Egg Hunt event organiser and Murwillumbah First National real estate agent Sally Mather said the event is designed to give families a boost following the floods.

“This is a great way to help families bounce back from the floods and to give kids a special treat this Easter,” she said.

“I’d really like to thank the support of local businesses including Murwillumbah First National, Tweed Valley IGA and Varela Swift Pharmacy for helping donate the eggs and support,” Sally said.

“I’m hoping we’ve got enough eggs for all the kids, but we’re also planning some other activities including egg and spoon races and biscuit decorating.”

Age groups will be staggered for the event including 9.15am for 0-3-year-olds, 9.30am for 4-7-year-olds and 9.45am for 8-10-year-olds.

But the big surprise will be a visit from the Easter Bunny, who’s taking some timeout from his busy schedule to visit Murwillumbah.
