THE MURWILLUMBAH Art Trail (MAT) is less than three weeks away and the organisers have announced a special line up for their Opening Night Show at the Regent Cinema on Friday May 26 and a range of art workshops from May 25 to May 28.

The MAT Opening Night Show on Thursday, May 26, promises to be a fabulous night of performance and creative fun as the shire celebrates the opening of our third Murwillumbah Art Trail.

“A newly formed theatre troupe from Murwillumbah called the “illuminating make over divas” have created a bespoke show for the MAT opening night that promises to be entertaining, funny, motivational and a celebration of our Murwillumbah culture,” event organiser Natascha Wernick said.

“The Shine Show travels the world turning up where it is most needed.

“Their mission? To help people to find their ‘Shine’. It seems with the recent flooding in our shire, these ladies of the light are ready to spread their own brand of quirky love and salvation.

“A bold, colourful and dynamic performance The Shine Show includes storytelling, song, dance and film. You will leave feeling uplifted and shining from the inside out.”

Also on the program for the night will be “Sponsor’s Private Selection” Awards. This provides the opportunity for our Gold Sponsors to present an award to the artist of their choosing.

Tickets are $30 and include sumptuous canapés provided by The Modern Grocer, Beer by Stone and Wood and cocktails by Husk Distillers.

MAT organisers and artists are also offering a series of art workshops over the five days of the MAT.
