Driver discharged and passenger stable following horror crash

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS REPORTS:

TWEED POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a horror vehicle crash involving a truck at Tweed Heads South on Sunday, January 29, at 5.30pm.

The 22-year-old female driver of the white Subaru sedan was discharged from Gold Coast University Hospital this morning, although the 22-year-old male passenger remains in a stable condition in hospital.

Emergency services were called to the Pacific Motorway, 300-metres south of the Kirkwood Road off rampĀ and found a truck had collided with a white sedan. As a result of the impact, the sedan hit a nearby tree.

 

The driver of the truck, a 68-year-old man was uninjured. He was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

It’s the third major accident at Tweed Heads South involving a truck in the past 12 months.
