Break and enter at Tweed Heads South prompts police appeal

TWEED POLICE are appealing for public assistance to track down those responsible for breaking into and robbing small local business Tweed Coast Marine on Sunday, January 8.

The robbery, which involved several trailer parts, wheels and lighting, took place between 2pm on Sunday, January 8 and 7am Monday, January 9.

Police said the offenders gained entry via the rear fence of the premises.

“It is believed the offenders may have stopped a vehicle on the M1 south bound at the rear of the property and climbed the perimeter fencing to gain entry. Boat trailer parts such as lights and wheels where stolen,” the Police statement reads.

“Police request any member of the public that may have been travelling south on the M1 between these times and noticed a vehicle parked near the Tweed Heads South, Minjungbal Drive exit to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Tweed Heads Police  on 07 55360986.”
