AFTER 29-YEARS of dedicated service and being the friendly face of Bray Park Fuel & Mechanical, Mark Fendley has announced the fuel business has now sold.
But don’t worry the same traditional focus on “quality service with a smile” will remain with new owner Andrew (Andy) Pearson, who has worked closely with Mark.
Couple Mark and Trish Fendley (pictured above) will remain the freehold owners of the entire site, but Andy has purchased the fuel and retail business, while chief mechanic Tim Leigh has plans to buy the mechanical business.
Mark told The Weekly that he was proud of the high standard of service he introduced to the business almost 30 years ago, which includes one of region’s last fuel-pumping service.
“It’s been an amazing journey meeting so many people including our regular locals and visitors,” he said.
“We have a lot of elderly residents in the area, who really appreciate the extra mile we go as they don’t have the best mobility and they can just relax in the car while we pump the fuel and get the anything they need from the retail store.”
Mark says he’s hanging up his fuel cap in exchange for an apron to help Trish with the iconic local Show ‘n Shine deli, next door to the fuel and mechanical.
The deli, which is also for sale, was opened in 2008 and has established a reputation for outstanding food, quality service as well as comfortable dine-in restaurant.
“I love to cook and joining Trish in the kitchen is really exciting for me,” he said.
“We’re also planning on introducing a whole new range of home cooked meals, to give our busy customers some more take away options that are wholesome and delicious.”
Mark said the couple had worked hard to capture the growth in housing around the area.
“Bray Park is growing around the area which is really driving the success of the business,” he said.
“And we believe as the area continues to grow, the deli, fuel and mechanical businesses are all well placed for the future.”
