A GOLD COAST film production company has secured several key locations in Murwillumbah with hundreds of extras needed to help make an apocalyptic film come to life.

Occupation is the film’s title and while the script is under tight wraps, what we do know is a massive ground invasion takes place and the story is told from the perspective of a group of small town folk.

The group band together for survival and the chance to strike back at the mystery invaders.

Created by Sparke Films, Occupation has two locations confirmed in Murwillumbah including the Murwillumbah Show Grounds and The Sugar Beat Cafe.

Producer Carmel Imrie said she wanted to encourage the entire community to get involved.

“We are currently taking as many sign up extras as possible,” she said.

“Once your are signed up we will announce the itinerary via your email and where we need you and when.”

“We need a lot of extras, especially for the showgrounds shoot, we need it to look packed.”
